Our milestones over the years are a testament to our strong and sustained growth as a premium eldercare operator in the region.

2023

  • Signed a conditional sale and purchase agreement to acquire all the issued and paid-up shares of Ambulance Medical Service Pte. Ltd. (“AMS”), an emergency ambulance and medical transport operator in Singapore (the “Proposed Acquisition”).  This strategic move marks a significant milestone for Econ Healthcare, further strengthening our suite of healthcare services and ecosystem of care. 
  • With over 15 years of expertise in the industry, AMS is an established emergency ambulance and medical transport operator. As of 29 November 2023, AMS manages a robust fleet of 57 ambulances. Key market segments include provision of 24/7 ambulance transport services for both emergency and non-emergency cases, medical standby and coverage at events.

2021

Establishment of Chongqing Nursing Home in Chongqing, China.

2020

  • Signed a joint venture agreement with our joint venture partner in China to operate a nursing home in Chongqing, China.
  • The Chongqing Nursing Home has also been awarded one of the top ten innovation projects in the Yuzhong Free Trade Zone.
  • Establishment of ECON Medicare Centre and Nursing Home – Puchong in Jalan Puchong, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
  • Appointed as an operator under the BOL Scheme for two new medicare centres and nursing homes, namely ECON Medicare Centre and Nursing Home – Henderson and ECON Medicare Centre and Nursing Home – Jurong East which is expected to be operational in the second half of 2022 and the second half of 2025 respectively.

2018

Signed a memorandum of understanding with Chongqing Civil Affairs Bureau for collaboration in the operation management, medical care and nursing, planning and design, and educational training, relating to eldercare services in Chongqing, China.

2017

Establishment of ECONLIFE! Hub – Bedok, Singapore.

Appointed by the MOH Singapore to provide Integrated Home and Day Care services to persons who are eligible for this programme. IHDC offers both day care and home care services to facilitate the care for a person in the community.

Celebration of ECON Healthcare’s 30 years anniversary with award ceremonies and wondrous cheers dedicated to our care staff.

2016

Establishment of ECONLIFE! Hubs – Sengkang and Yung Kuang, Singapore.

2015

Establishment of ECON Medicare Centre and Nursing Home – Buangkok View 5, Singapore.

2014

Establishment of ECON Medicare Centre and Nursing Home – Taman Perling, Malaysia.

2011

  • Establishment of the first ECON Health and Wellness Centre (now branded as ECONLIFE! Hub) in Bishan, Singapore, which aims to promote health and wellness and strengthen community bonds with the seniors.
  • First private operator to be appointed by the Ministry of Social and Family Development (formerly the Ministry of Community, Youth and Sports) to operate ECONLIFE! Hubs under the elder service centre programme which is now managed by the MOH Singapore.
  • Establishment of ECON Medicare Centre and Nursing Home – Yio Chu Kang, Singapore. We were the first private operator to be appointed by the MOH Singapore under the BOL Scheme to manage ECON Medicare Centre and Nursing Home – Yio Chu Kang, Singapore.

2009

Establishment of ECON Medicare Centre and Nursing Home – Recreation Road, Singapore.

2006

Establishment of ECON Medicare Centre and Nursing Home – Buangkok View 9, Singapore.

2005

Establishment of ECON Medicare Centre and Nursing Home – Chai Chee & Choa Chu Kang, Singapore.

2004

  • Establishment of the first overseas medicare centre and nursing home, ECON Medicare Centre and Nursing Home – Pudu, in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
  • Establishment of ECON Careskill Training Centre to provide healthcare training services.

2003

Establishment of ECON Medicare Centre and Nursing Home – Braddell, Singapore.

2000

Establishment of ECON Medicare Centre and Nursing Home – Upper East Coast, Singapore.

1990

Shifted to new premises in Telok Kurau, Singapore with a total bed capacity of 25 and thereafter shifted to new premises in Bukit Timah, Singapore with a total bed capacity of 190.

1987

Our founder, Mr Ong Chu Poh, established the first nursing home in Telok Kurau, Singapore.
